# How Much Does a Website Cost in South Africa? What Our Clients Actually Paid [2026]

By (https://www.newperspectivestudio.co.za/author/juan-preuyt/) Founder, New Perspective Design Updated September 2026 7 min read

These figures are the typical final prices New Perspective Design clients paid on website projects from 2024 to 2026, grouped by package tier. Older projects are left out because prices shifted too much to compare fairly. All prices are once-off and exclude VAT.

## How Much Does a Website Cost in South Africa? The Short Answer

A website in South Africa costs from **R1,990** for a one-page landing page to **R16,900 and up** for a corporate website, based on what our clients actually paid between 2024 and 2026. A three-page starter website lands at **R3,490** and a five-page small business website at **R5,590**. E-commerce stores and product catalogues both land around **R9,980**.

Page count sets the tier. Functionality decides where the final price lands. Two websites with the same number of pages can finish at very different prices.

- **Landing page (R1,990).** One page built for one goal.

- **Starter website (R3,490).** A simple three-page brochure site.

- **Small business website (R5,590).** Five pages covering the business and its services.

- **Lead generation website (R8,590).** Dedicated service and product pages, plus landing pages for ads.

- **E-commerce or product catalogue website (around R9,980).** An online store, or the same build with the checkout switched off.

- **Corporate website (R16,900 and up).** Priced by page count. We have not delivered one below R16,000.

## What Our Clients Paid for Each Type of Website (2024 to 2026)

A package price and a final invoice are not always the same number. The table shows what our clients typically paid in each tier over the last three years, which is the figure worth budgeting against.

| Website type | What it includes | What clients typically paid |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Landing page | One page built for a single goal, such as a campaign or lead capture | R1,990 |
| Starter website | A three-page brochure website for a new or very small business | R3,490 |
| Small business website | A five-page website covering the business, its services and contact details | R5,590 |
| Lead generation website | Dedicated service and product pages, plus landing pages built for Google Ads campaigns | R8,590 |
| E-commerce website | Product listings, shopping cart and payment gateway | Around R9,980 |
| Product catalogue / RFQ website | A product catalogue where buyers request quotes instead of checking out | Around R9,980 |
| Corporate website | Large multi-page websites, priced by page count | R16,900 and up |
| Custom build | Booking systems, portals and integrations, scoped per project | From R18,000 |

Our e-commerce package is listed from R7,580, yet most e-commerce clients land around R9,980, level with a product catalogue. The next section explains why.

## Why Do E-Commerce and Catalogue Websites Cost the Same?

A product catalogue with request-for-quote forms is built the same way as an online store. The only real difference is that the checkout is switched off. Buyers browse products, add them to a quote list and send an enquiry instead of paying online.

The build work is almost identical: product structure, categories, product pages and the catalogue itself. That is why both land around R9,980.

It also means a catalogue business can start selling online later without a rebuild. When the business is ready, the checkout and payment gateway get switched on. For manufacturers and distributors who quote every order today, that makes a catalogue the cheaper long-term route into (https://www.newperspectivestudio.co.za/eCommerce-Development-South-Africa/).

## Where Our Website Projects Land

Across our projects from the last three years, the work splits like this:

- Landing page, starter and small business websites: about 40%

- E-commerce stores and product catalogues: about 30%

- Corporate websites: about 25%

- Custom builds: about 5%

Selling or quoting products online is not a niche request. Close to a third of the websites we build do it.

Custom builds are rare. Most businesses get what they need from a well-planned standard tier, and custom work only pays off when the website has to run part of the business, such as bookings or client portals.

## Why Two Five-Page Websites Don’t Cost the Same

Page count is the first thing most people ask about, and it only tells half the story. Two of our medical clients show why.

Both are doctors’ practices, and both have five-page websites. (https://www.drdmtmjoli.co.za/) presents the practice: services, the doctor, location and contact details. (https://gidocjhb.com/) has five pages too, plus a full booking calendar integration, so patients book appointments online.

Same page count, different price. The booking calendar adds setup, integration and testing work a brochure website never needs. The pattern holds across all our projects: page count sets the starting tier, and functionality moves the price from there. The (https://www.newperspectivestudio.co.za/wp/what-is-the-cost-of-creating-a-website-in-south-africa/#price-factors) covers the other factors.

## Does the Final Website Price Ever Change From the Quote?

For landing pages, starter, small business, e-commerce and catalogue websites, the final price stays at the package price. The scope is clear from day one.

Corporate and custom builds behave differently. Their final price moves more often, sometimes up and sometimes down, because functionality gets finalised as the project takes shape. A feature that looked essential in the brief gets dropped. An integration needs more work than planned.

If a quote for a larger website arrives as one fixed number with no detail, ask what happens when the functionality changes.

## Case Study: An Accounting Firm That Grew From 5 Pages to 13

(https://reclamiralove.co.za/), a Johannesburg accounting firm, came to us for a basic five-page website to showcase their services.

When their content arrived, it covered every service in real depth. Squeezing all of it onto a single services page would have buried it. Each service had enough substance to stand as its own page.

> “It would be a waste to put all of this on one page. You’ve got enough information here to build out dedicated pages, and those help with SEO and ranking.”
> Juan Preuyt, Founder, New Perspective Design, on the Reclamiralove project

We recommended dedicated service pages instead. Separate pages give each service its own chance to rank for the searches clients actually make, and give visitors a direct path to the service they need. The project moved from our five-page small business tier to a 13-page website in our corporate tier.

The price rose with the scope. So did what the website could do for the firm, and it turned out well for them.

## How Much Should You Budget for a Website in South Africa?

For a small business, budget R3,490 for a three-page starter website or R5,590 for a five-page website. Product-based businesses should plan around R9,980, whether they sell online or take quote requests. A business with a lot of services to explain belongs in the corporate tier from R16,900.

The build is a once-off cost. (https://www.newperspectivestudio.co.za/Website-hosting-South-Africa/) and maintenance run separately each month, and the (https://www.newperspectivestudio.co.za/wp/what-is-the-cost-of-creating-a-website-in-south-africa/#monthly-costs) are broken down in our full price guide.

## Website Cost in South Africa: Frequently Asked Questions

### Why do e-commerce and product catalogue websites cost about the same?

A product catalogue with quote requests is an online store with the checkout switched off, so the build work is almost identical. At New Perspective Design both typically land around R9,980, and a catalogue can switch its checkout on later without a rebuild.

### Do all five-page websites cost the same in South Africa?

No. Page count sets the starting tier, and functionality moves the price. A five-page brochure website costs R5,590 with us, while a five-page website with a full booking calendar integration costs more because of the extra setup, integration and testing work.

### Can a website quote come in lower than expected?

Yes, on corporate and custom builds. Their final price moves up or down as functionality gets finalised, and a feature dropped from the brief lowers the cost. Landing page, starter, small business, e-commerce and catalogue websites stay at the package price.

### Why do these website prices only cover 2024 to 2026?

Website prices in South Africa have shifted too much over the years for older projects to give a fair picture. Using only the last three years of our project records keeps the figures close to what a website costs today.
